Mercedes-AMG has revealed the interior of the upcoming GT 4-Door Coupe, which has been developed in-house at Affalterbach.
“In the new Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupe, we have consistently focused every interior detail on performance and implemented it with the highest precision,” said Michael Schiebe, member of the board of management of Mercedes-Benz Group, production, quality and supply chain management, and chairman of the board of management of Mercedes-AMG.
“Even when stationary, the interior already showcases what the future GT 4-Door is capable of, making the vehicle’s driving dynamics immediately tangible. It creates maximum control and enables a typical AMG driving experience that gets the pulse racing.”

A key highlight of the interior is in the center console: three driving dynamics rotary controls enable the response, slip and cornering behavior to be adjusted. The Response Control dial coordinates the response of the electric motors to accelerator pedal commands; the Agility Control rotary control changes the agility around the vertical axis and thus the cornering behavior; and the Traction Control rotary control – used to control slip – influences the intervention of the traction control in nine stages.
Behind this is a system of hardware components and software functions grouped under the name AMG Race Engineer. Via the three rotary controls – known as the AMG Race Engineer Control Unit – the system provides direct access to the vehicle’s central systems.
The vehicle’s instrument panel is dominated by a wide display, which is divided into a driver-oriented area and a slightly offset passenger area. The driver displays, consisting of an instrument cluster (10.2in) and a multimedia monitor (14.0in), combine to form a seamless single unit.
The 14in multimedia monitor is ergonomically angled toward the driver, enabling optimum readability and intuitive operation. In addition, an exclusive passenger display (14.0in) with separate content is available.
A continuous light strip on the upper level of the instrument panel surrounds the interior and connects the instrument panel with the doors.
Large round air vents blend into the glass surface on the left and right. As part of the ambient lighting system, they shine in selectable colors.
The center console includes an armrest with a closed storage compartment and two charging trays for inductive fast charging of smartphones. Two illuminated cup holders are separated from the charging trays. The front part of the center console includes a real metal look and encompasses the housing for the central air vent unit.
Newly developed front seats offer high lateral support during dynamic cornering, while optional AMG Performance seats with integrated head restraints are available.
The AMG Performance steering wheel, which is flattened at the bottom, features roller and rocker switches. It is available with a variety of wheel rims, from leather to lightweight carbon fiber and non-slip microfiber. Steering wheel paddles allow for precise control of recuperation. Two AMG steering wheel buttons feature color LCD displays, enabling important driving functions and various driving programs to be controlled. They are operated by turning the adjustment ring or pressing the display button. The selected setting is shown on the high-resolution display integrated directly into the respective button.
A one-piece panoramic glass roof extends to the rear window and can be switched between transparent and non-transparent. For this purpose, the panoramic roof is divided into individually switchable segments. For protection against solar radiation, the glass surface is made of heat-insulating laminated safety glass as standard, with an infrared-reflective coating and an ultra-thin low-emissivity (LowE) coating on the inside. This prevents the interior from heating up in summer and keeps temperatures pleasant. In winter, the LowE coating reduces heat loss by reflecting the interior heat back into the cabin. A carbon-look ultra-lightweight roof is available.
The vehicle’s user interfaces and Mercedes Benz User Experience (MBUX) are based on the Group’s new Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MB.OS). This integrated software-to-cloud architecture intelligently networks and controls all control units and functions.
There are newly developed display styles to choose from. The AMG Special style offers four different sub-screens. The AMG Track Pace display style shows telemetry data, acceleration values or race data depending on the situation. The Classic style features various submenus such as current consumption or the navigation map.
