GM’s latest software updates introduce a series of enhancements to Cadillac’s freeform user interface. Shaped by customer feedback, the updates span the home screen, media, digital vehicle controls and apps.
GM has updated its infotainment system with a side queue that displays upcoming tracks and a new source selector for switching between audio apps with fewer inputs. The queue feature is available with supported paid music streaming services.
The company has also introduced a feature that links up to two driver profiles to a vehicle’s seat memory buttons, allowing drivers to restore their preferred seat position and personalized settings with a single press. The feature will debut on the 2026 Cadillac Vistiq before expanding to other GM models.
Additional updates include larger tap areas to reduce mis-taps and make frequently used controls easier to access; on-screen seat graphics that mirror the physical controls; revised labels within the charging app; sharper head-up display (HUD) graphics for improved readability; and a faster Bluetooth setup with fewer confirmation steps.
GM has begun rolling out some of the enhancements to eligible Cadillac vehicles through over-the-air updates, with additional improvements arriving over the next few months.
Planned updates include a redesigned split-view home screen with a larger interactive map for navigation, route planning and destination search, alongside a revised layout that gives greater prominence to routing information. GM also plans to introduce a simplified editing interface with one-tap access to customize home-screen widgets.
According to GM, these updates reflect the company’s broader UI roadmap to continuously elevate the in-vehicle experience and deliver software improvements that customers see and feel.
