Forvia has launched two seating solutions designed for the construction and mining industries.
One of the seats is built on a rugged metal platform designed for industrial duty and simple integration into existing machinery. It has enhanced features including massage systems, heating, adjustable bolsters and lumbar support.
Based upon a standard structure, manufacturers can choose which comfort and technology features operators need, then specify desired configurations, from a minimum-equipment base to fully featured premium seats –without redesigning core architecture. Key technologies include an ergonomic swivel system with a secure, intuitive electronic locking mechanism that enables operators to adjust their position precisely to their needs, along with Vibe – an advanced safety feature that warns operators of potential dangers or obstacles through in-seat vibration alerts.
The other seat has a robust metal structure and a modular architecture that separates the cushion and backrest into replaceable, upgradeable modules. This modularization supports repairability and lifecycle extension while simplifying integration and allowing quick repair or upgrade without full seat replacement, reducing downtime and lifetime costs.
Key features include highly robust, fixed seatbelt-in-seat technology, incorporated in the seat’s structure to adjust to the operator’s seating position, improving overall safety, alongside a range of wellbeing functions. These include active lumbar support, massage options, adjustable cushion length and thermal control – features that reduce fatigue, minimize back strain and help operators stay alert during long periods of use.
Both seats make extensive use of sustainable materials.
Sébastien Limousin, executive vice president of seating at Forvia, said, “These two new products represent the pinnacle of our seating expertise and offer machinery manufacturers and operators an entirely new level of comfort and safety features that is unlike anything else on the market.”
