Lepas unveils UK design manifesto

A Lepas designer draws on a piece of white paper. There are several sketches of vehicles.

Following its creative showcase during Milan Design Week and Auto China 2026 event, Chinese vehicle manufacturer Lepas – Chery Holding Group’s premium automotive brand – has announced its UK Design Manifesto.

The Lepas UK Design Manifesto is centered on the brand’s deep and fundamental connection to the leopard, with a design language that prioritizes a fusion of speed, power and elegance.

The sleek stance and graceful tapering of Lepas models are influenced by the fluid form of the leopard, the auto maker said, translating natural agility into a refined automotive expression. Each sculpted body panel is defined by subtle, flowing contours that “evoke the ripple of muscles beneath its skin”. Lepas says it designs its models so light moves seamlessly across the vehicle’s surfaces, echoing the elegance of a predator in motion and reinforcing a sense of quiet authority.

The design manifesto creates vehicles that “evoke a sense of motion even when at rest. Inspired by the leopard’s agile stance and powerful curves, each model blends taut, dynamic surfaces with fluid lines, creating forms that deliver striking visual presence while maintaining exceptional refinement and a clear expression of controlled power”, Lepas said.

The Lepas L6 made its European debut during Milan Design Week with a choice of two distinct powertrains, the Super Hybrid and battery electric (EV). The Lepas Super Hybrid combines a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with an electric motor and battery pack to offer drivers a total range of approximately 700 miles. The fully electric L6 EV delivers 270 miles on a single charge from its 67kWh battery.

Continuing the brand’s expansion in the UK, Lepas has confirmed the L6 will be introduced after the arrival of the flagship Lepas L8, which will arrive in the UK in late 2026.

Gary Lan, CEO of Lepas UK, said, “The Lepas Design Manifesto defines the future direction of our brand and articulates the principles that shape every vehicle we create. At its core is inspiration drawn from the leopard, one of nature’s most graceful, agile, and powerful forms.” Lepas, a name combining leopard and passion, reflects this design philosophy.

“For Lepas, the leopard aesthetic is far more than a design language; it represents a mindset. It reflects confidence, individuality and a bold sense of self-expression. Through this philosophy, we create vehicles that combine sophistication with character, allowing our customers to express their identity through design.

“A vehicle inspired by such a formidable and elegant creature must do more than perform – it must feel alive. Our Design Manifesto captures this vision through a balance of quiet power, effortless speed and a constant sense of readiness, while embedding refinement, beauty and sophistication into every detail.”
