BMW has started delivering 2 Series Gran Coupes in the UK, which comes with technology including the iDrive Controller.
The four-door coupe comes with the BMW Operating System 7.0, giving users a variety of operating methods, featuring touch controls in addition to buttons on the center console and steering wheel.
BMW Live Cockpit Plus is standard on Sport models and includes touch controls, navigation, two USB ports and a wi-fi interface.
The 8.8in control display features a touchscreen, and the instrument cluster has a 5.1in color display.
Cockpit Plus includes connected services such as Emergency Call, Teleservices, Over-the-air and USB map updates, BMW App connectivity and Intelligent Voice assistant.
The 2 series offers BMW Connected Package Plus as standard with features such as Remote Services, Real Time Traffic Information, and adds Concierge Services and Apple CarPlay as standard.
All models feature the iDrive Controller as standard, including a touchpad for character and numerical entry.
Gesture control is an optional extra, while voice control systems with online speech processing is standard.
An optional 9.2in head-up display positions relevant information into the driver’s field of vision on the windscreen.
The information relates to driver data and includes navigation information, speed, country-specific display of traffic signs, warning information from driver assistance systems, entertainment and communication lists.
BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant responds to the prompt “Hey BMW” and learns the driver’s routines and habits, including favored settings for seat heating and frequent locations.
Connected Navigation allows internal and external information to be factored into route planning, with drivers sending destinations straight to the car’s navigation system from various apps.
Connected Parking suggests parking options such the nearest multi-storey car park, suggests routes with a good choice of spaces and On-Street Parking Information is available in a number of UK locations.
Connected Music is available via the in-built SIM card from partners including Spotify, Deezer and Napster.
New vehicles receive a three-year subscription, and after that it is available for an annual charge via the BMW ConnectedDrive service.
