Dolby Atmos comes to the Tata Sierra

Dolby Laboratories and Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles (TMPV) have announced that the new Tata Sierra will come equipped with the Dolby Atmos immersive sound system. The system is designed to enhance in-car entertainment by allowing sounds to be placed and moved around the listener, providing a more immersive audio experience than traditional stereo systems.

The Sierra features a premium 12-speaker audio system, designed to deliver a balanced, multidimensional soundscape for everyone in the cabin.

Karan Grover, Dolby Laboratories’ senior director of commercial partnerships, IMEA, commented, “At Dolby, our mission is to elevate entertainment wherever it is experienced – at home, on the go, or on the road. By introducing Dolby Atmos to the all-new Tata Sierra, we are proud to continue working with Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles and extend the next-generation in-car entertainment experience in Dolby to more users in India.

Grover continued, “Together, we are transforming in-car entertainment into an emotionally engaging experience, allowing drivers and passengers to get even more out of their entertainment.”

Mohan Savarkar, chief product officer at TMPV, added, “At TMPV, every vehicle we craft is centered on elevating the customer experience. The Sierra has been one of India’s most eagerly awaited nameplates, and it was only fitting that a legend return with a truly legendary in-car experience. By integrating Dolby Atmos into the new Tata Sierra, we are bringing a transformative dimension to in-car entertainment — one that perfectly complements the vehicle’s performance, design and spirit of innovation.”
