Precision adhesives for flawless wrapping
Hansi is presenting four advanced adhesive systems redefining reliability and comfort for modern interiors. Its reactive PU hot-melts deliver strong initial bonding with clean sprayability, while thermoplastic polyolefin hot-melts enable pretreatment-free wrapping of PP and NFPP. For manual applications, water-based PU adhesives offer a sustainable, low-VOC solution with excellent hydrolysis resistance. Completing the range, solvent-based rubber adhesives ensure superior post-cure heat performance. Together, these systems provide durable, low-odor solutions across PP, ABS, PC/ABS and leathers. Z Lin, general manager, Hansi USA, commented, “Automotive Interiors Expo is the ideal stage to share our vision and cutting-edge products with a global audience.” Booth A522
Innovations in brakes and torque limiters
Origin is at AIX showcasing compact torque limiters
combining brake and clutch functions in a single unit for electric actuators. Designed to generate different torques by rotation direction, they allow system simplification, miniaturization and reliable protection under overload. The company’s two-stage power backdoor limiter integrates damper and safety functions: 0.2Nm damper torque for smooth operation and 4.0Nm overload slip to protect the motor. The design ensures quiet, stable performance and durability in smaller, lighter systems. Ryo Kurita, sales manager at Origin, said of the 2025 expo, “After great success in Europe, we’re excited to expand into the North American market.” Booth A538
XR Sheet sustainable substrate
Saco AEI Polymers introduces XR Sheet, also known as Wood Stock – a recyclable, cost-efficient polypropylene and wood-flour blend used in door panels, parcel shelves and trunk liners. Made from recycled materials and supported by a buy-back recycling program, XR Sheet combines strength, flexibility and environmental responsibility. Compatible with single- or twin-sheet vacuum molding, it enables efficient production of lightweight, sustainable interior components without compromising performance.
“This expo is the ideal venue to showcase how our sustainable thermoplastic materials are shaping the next generation of automotive interiors,” said Humberto Garcia, Saco’s business development manager. Booth A228
High-strength resins for lightweighting
Toyobo spotlights engineering resins such as PBT and nylon, offering high strength, low warpage and grade-A finishes for parts like IP brackets, hinges and air vents. The standout material, Glamide JF-30G, rivals magnesium and zinc alloys in rigidity while reducing weight and cost. Fully injection-moldable, it’s already replacing metal in multiple OEM interior applications, advancing lightweighting and performance goals. “This event is a great opportunity to connect with OEMs and tier suppliers,” explained Alex Geelhood, sales and business development representative, Toyobo MC USA. Conference highlights – inspiration from the show floor
The Innovation Showcase opened this morning with a packed audience.
Reell Precision Manufacturing’s Dominic Louwagie explored how to maintain a consistent user experience throughout a vehicle’s lifespan, drawing attention to precision motion and durability in hinge design. Andrew Struthers of Serigraph followed with insights into in-mold labeling (IML) – showing how graphics and functional surfaces can merge to enhance design and usability.
Alex Geelhood from Toyobo rounded out the morning by highlighting high-performance polyamides that enable lighter, stronger structural parts. This afternoon adopts a sustainability theme, with Pablo Javier Ramos Cuevas of Taiyo Manufacturing taking the stage at 2:00pm to discuss Cr³ and Cr⁶-free plating, offering safer, eco-friendly finishes for interior plastics. At 2:30pm, Ruth Keuter of VACU-form will present lightweight 3D structures for sustainable interiors, revealing new approaches to design efficiency and recyclability.
Tomorrow, don’t miss the InteriVision Summit, featuring senior voices from Stellantis, General Motors, Marelli and S&P Global Mobility, who’ll share their vision for the future of automotive interiors – covering trends in materials, design integration and user experience.
