ART, a developer of digital cockpit systems, has joined the eSync Alliance – a non-profit organization aiming to forge a secure bi-directional data pipeline for automotive OTA updates and diagnostics. The company will contribute to the development of eSync-compliant capabilities for digital cabin technology. By working to create harmonized solutions, ART aims to ensure that various systems within the vehicle – such as dashboards, e-cockpit systems and telematics control units from multiple vendors – can seamlessly communicate within a unified OTA ecosystem. This would cut development times, minimize integration complexity and provide OEMs with greater flexibility in sourcing OTA-ready components.
Andrea Narciso, chief technology officer at ART, said, “Joining the eSync Alliance represents a natural evolution of our mission to be enthusiastic promoters of software-defined change in the automotive industry. As vehicles become increasingly software-defined, the need for standardized, secure and interoperable OTA infrastructure has never been more critical. Our expertise in developing advanced digital cockpits, telematics systems and onboard innovation platforms positions us to contribute meaningfully to the alliance’s vision while delivering even greater value to our OEM partners.”
Mike Gardner, executive director of the eSync Alliance, added, “After an exceptional year of growth, adding new members across multiple continents and achieving significant geographical expansion, it’s clear that the message around standardization is resonating throughout the industry.
“ART’s recognized excellence in onboard innovation and deep experience in developing integrated cockpit systems for the automotive, railway and aerospace industries brings valuable expertise to our community at exactly the right time. The momentum we’re seeing demonstrates that auto makers and suppliers alike understand that standardized, interoperable OTA solutions are essential to the future of software-defined vehicles. As more industry leaders like ART join our ecosystem, we’re building the critical mass needed to truly transform how the automotive industry approaches connectivity and software updates.”
Adding ART broadens the eSync Alliance’s network of automotive suppliers working together on practical, interoperable over-the-air solutions. By using eSync standards, ART aims to help automotive manufacturers shorten OTA development timelines from years to months, while maintaining strong cybersecurity, multivendor compatibility and the ability to update every electronic control unit in a vehicle.
eSync-compliant solutions are already in use in millions of vehicles worldwide. Through this work, the alliance offers a standardized, bi-directional OTA framework that supports software updates and data collection across all vehicle systems.
