The German Design Awards have recognized Continental’s Luxury Minimalism Concept as well as two of its key display concepts, the 5K Natural 3D Display and Curved Ultrawide Display.
The 5K Natural 3D Display from Continental features Lightfield technology which enables a 3D experience without needing to wear special glasses or without installing a head tracking camera in the cabin. The solution provides occupants with a “natural viewing experience,” and enables content to be viewed from a multitude of differing angles. Additional features include complex lighting effects which change perspective correctly when the head moves and an even larger eyebox, which means that there is more room for head movements to see the 3D images.
Both the 5K Natural 3D Display and Continental’s recently announced Curved Ultrawide Display were both classed as Winners at the German Design Awards 2023 and its Luxury Minimalism Concept – a minimalist design for vehicle interiors –won the Gold award.
Instead of using a multitude of screens, the luxurious interior concept features a display in avant-garde diamond form. This display acts as a central driver information system and is home to an artificial intelligence virtual assistant which supports the driver. The combination of this with the integrated display control panel based on Continental’s In2visible Display technology enables fully comprehensive and intuitive operation despite the minimalist design. The control panel also only appears when required.

In keeping with this vision, Continental is setting a new standard with its new Luxury Minimalism cockpit concept.”
