Audi MMI enters third generation

The third generation of Audi’s MMI infotainment system will arrive later this year for most 2021 models.

Modular Infotainment Toolkit (MIB) 3 is equipped with a chipset 10 times faster than the previous hardware and provides customers with new features including SiriusXM with 360L and hybrid digital radio and Function on Demand.

For A4 and A5 models, MIB 3 hardware lets customers purchase in-vehicle navigation for vehicles without the factory fitted option.

The Audi connect Generation 3 offers basic unlimited wi-fi included an Audi connect Prime with connectivity for up to eight devices.

MIB 3 will be fitted on 2021 models of the A4, A5, A6, A7, A8, Q3, Q7 and Q8 with other models being announced at a later date.

SiriusXM with 360L, which will be available or standard on most 2021 models, combines satellite and streaming content delivery into a single system.

Hybrid digital radio means customers can continue listening to the same channel even when outside of the channel’s range.

MyAudi app improves the marketplace experience with the ability to purchase in-car features with flexible subscription plans.

Function on Demand introduces the ability to purchase vehicle functions through the myAudi marketplace.

Amazon Alexa Auto lets users pair their Alexa account to their car for features including getting directions, checking news, ordering groceries and other functions.

Integrated Toll Module will be fitted to the Q8, A4, A5, A6, A7 and A8 models, with the rearview mirror-based toll payment helping customers manage multiple toll accounts.
