Teledyne LeCroy has added support for the Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA) DisplayPort Automotive Extension (AE) to its quantumdata M42de DisplayPort 2.1 Analyzer/Generator system. This advance is said to mark a new era of functional safety and interoperability for next-generation in-vehicle displays. The addition of DisplayPort AE support will enable Teledyne LeCroy to help early adopters of VESA technologies to test and validate their designs.

The company said that emerging technologies such as DisplayPort AE – which provides strong safety, security and interoperability features for infotainment systems – will help enable connected and automated vehicle interiors.

“VESA’s new Automotive Extension services standard builds on the latest DisplayPort and eDP technologies to deliver a new era of safety and security for in-vehicle displays. With Teledyne LeCroy’s timely support for testing AE-enabled devices, developers now have a critical resource to ensure safety and reliability as this important protocol moves forward,” said Bill Lempesis, executive director of VESA.

The new capabilities of the quantumdata M42de enable auto makers and Tier 1 suppliers to achieve rigorous safety, seamless interoperability and full compliance with VESA’s upcoming DisplayPort AE logo certification program.

A demonstration of Teledyne LeCroy’s DisplayPort AE support on the quantumdata M42de platform is available at CES 2026.
