Mercedes-Maybach launches SL 680 Monogram series

Mercedes-Maybach launches SL 680 Monogram Series.

Mercedes-Maybach is expanding its product portfolio with a fourth model, the SL 680 Monogram series, which features two design concepts at launch and is, the auto maker says, “the sportiest model in the brand’s history”.

The open-top two-seater interprets the silhouette of the SL and aims to combine a dynamic driving experience with skilled craftsmanship, high-quality materials and design details. Market launch in Europe has started, with other markets to follow successively.

“We want to surprise, inspire and excite our customers. With the Mercedes‑Maybach SL Monogram series, we’re offering them the sportiest and most extravagant model we’ve ever created. It’s a true Maybach for the ultimate in open-air-motoring enjoyment,” said Daniel Lescow, head of Mercedes‑Maybach, Mercedes‑Benz Group.

Customized luxury with two concepts

The interior has been designed to convey a feeling of lightness and space. The use of crystal white, sustainably tanned Manufaktur exclusive nappa leather is used to create an airy, elegant ambience and features on the door panels, the center console and the space behind the seats, and the seat upholstery has a floral design. The galvanised seat backrests and silver chrome trim provide a contrast to this. The seat side panels are lowered for easy entry and exit.

Acoustic comfort for relaxed driving pleasure

Mercedes has also paid particular consideration to driving and acoustic comfort. Comprehensive insulation measures reduce road noise, with acoustic fleeces, aluminium butyl surfaces and acoustic foams used, among other things.

The noise-optimized exhaust system is equipped with the maximum possible proportion of insulating materials – the muffler uses inlays of recyclable fibreglass textilemakes to help lower the noise of the Mercedes‑Maybach SL.

The car features a combination of a 4.0‑liter biturbo engine with 430kW (585hp) output and 9G‑Tronic automatic transmission to ensure dynamic driving.

In related news, Bentley Motors recently presented three new models for the Continental GT, Continental GT Convertible and Flying Spur line-ups at Auto Shanghai 2025. Each car now includes a benchmark model identified simply by its nameplate, an Azure variant, prioritizing wellness and comfort, and a Speed model. Click here to read in full
