Hesai Technology, a provider of lidar technologies for autonomous mobility systems and ADAS applications, has unveiled the ultra-wide field of view (FOV), long-range ATX lidar.
Designed for ADAS series production vehicles, the ATX uses Hesai’s fourth generation technology platform and features upgrades to the laser transceiver module. Compared to the previous model, the AT 128, it is 60% smaller by volume and it consumes just 8W of power, Hesai says.
The ATX can be integrated into various positions on a vehicle, including the roof, behind the windshield, or inside the front headlights. The company says the lidar has a maximum detection range of 300m and a horizontal FOV of 140°.
A key aspect of the ATX is its intelligent rain and fog identification feature, designed to identify environmental conditions such as rain, fog and water droplets in real time. This capability, combined with pixel-level filtering of environmental noises, is designed to enhance overall perception accuracy.
“We are very excited to debut the ATX and are confident it will have a great impact on the adoption of lidar given its versatility,” said David Li, CEO of Hesai Technology. “In creating this product, we wanted to give our customers an appealing solution to ensure safety is a standard feature in every intelligent vehicle.”
Mass production of the ATX is set to begin in the first quarter of 2025.
