Wind River and Neta Auto create intelligent vehicle domain controller for SDVs

Chinese EV manufacturer Neta Auto has utilized Wind River’s Linux solution to develop its Hozi supercomputing XPC intelligent control domain controller (XPC-S32G). This integrated gateway domain controller will serve as the central communication network within intelligent vehicles and is designed to support vehicle upgrades and enhance safety and control.

Wind River Linux supports the development and deployment of high-performance software applications, facilitating the software-defined vehicle (SDV).

The Hozi XPC-S32G aims to ensure secure cross-domain data connectivity, automotive network security and vehicle control management with low latency. It includes nine core functions: central gateway; vehicle thermal management; battery energy management; power torque management; remote diagnostics and calibration; full data collection; SOA gateway; edge computing; and over-the-air (OTA) updates.

The controller will be installed in Neta Auto’s new vehicles, starting with the Neta S model, set to be released later this year.

Built on the Neta Auto Shanhai Platform’s scalable electronic and electrical architecture, the Hozi XPC-ICDC integrates NXP Semiconductors’ S32G high-performance vehicle network processor with Wind River Linux. It uses a service-oriented architecture (SOA) software framework developed with Hirain Technologies’ expertise in automotive domain control technology.

Dai Dali, CTO of Neta Auto, said, “The Hozi XPC-S32G will be crucial in advancing the intelligence and software-defined future of Neta Auto products, offering new intelligent experiences for customers. Wind River provides expertise in performance optimization, localization, security and safety, along with long-term support.”

Woody Zou, general manager, China, at Wind River, added, “Software is driving the evolution of next-generation vehicles, creating new possibilities for auto makers and consumers. Wind River Linux helps innovators like Neta Auto develop high-performance open-source frameworks for software-defined vehicles.”
