Forvia has secured US$1bn in new and extended contracts with a major European auto maker. The agreements cover technologies from Forvia’s seating and interiors divisions and Forvia Hella’s lighting divisions. Production will take place at seven facilities in the US and Mexico to support the auto maker’s North American operations.
“These awards reaffirm Forvia as a trusted partner and supplier of choice to customers around the world, underscoring our commitment to advancing sustainable mobility and supporting localized production with North American manufacturing expertise,” said François Tardif, executive vice president Americas at Forvia.
From its seating division, the company will deliver front seat structures, foam, trim covers and complete seat assemblies, designed to enhance comfort, quality and lightweight efficiency.
From its interiors division, Forvia will deliver instrument and door panels customized for the auto maker, incorporating natural-fiber materials in the door panels to provide a functional and more sustainable design that integrates seamlessly with the cockpit.
From its lighting division, Forvia Hella will supply LED headlamp modules, with each lens engineered for precise light distribution, adaptive beam shaping and high efficiency.
“Our expansive regional manufacturing footprint enables us to provide localized support and delivery within North America,” added Tardif. “Our North American industrial sites utilize the latest Industry 4.0 technologies, including AI applications and more than 130 autonomous mobile robots, to ensure high-quality production, responsiveness and operational excellence.”
