Fourth-gen BMW 1 Series launched

The fourth generation of the BMW 1 Series has made its debut, with upgrades in interior design and infotainment systems that enhance the driving experience.

The new BMW iDrive system with QuickSelect, based on BMW Operating System 9, provides an intuitive user interface and features a redesigned home screen with vertically arranged function icons for easy access. This system supports touch operation and voice control and enables remote software upgrades and personalized digital services through BMW ConnectedDrive.

The interior of the new BMW 1 Series has been completely redesigned to provide a “modern, premium ambiance”, accommodating up to five occupants. Sport seats, which can be optionally covered in recycled polyester, provide high comfort for long journeys. Heated seats come standard across the line-up, with additional options for lumbar support, massage function and electric memory function. The rear seatbacks can be folded to expand the luggage capacity from 380 liters to 1,200 liters (300 to 1,135 liters in the BMW 120 model).

High-quality surfaces, a redesigned gear selector and the BMW Curved Display, which includes a 10.25in Information Display and a 10.7in Control Display, emphasize the progressive design of the new BMW 1 Series. The display system also offers digital controls for the air conditioning.

Advanced automated driving and parking systems are standard or optional, including Driving Assistant, Parking Assistant with Reversing Assistant, Steering and Lane Control Assist, and Parking Assistant Professional. Additionally, expanded standard equipment includes automatic air conditioning, LED headlights, heated front seats and BMW Live Cockpit Plus with cloud-based navigation.

The new 1 Series is available for order at BMW retailers across the UK, with deliveries starting in October 2024.
