New Qualcomm processor and Bowers & Wilkins audio system for Polestar 2.

New features and technologies have been added to the Polestar 2 for its 2026 model year update – notably several new elements inside the cabin. These include a faster, more powerful processor that enhances the performance of the infotainment system, and a high-end Bowers & Wilkins audio system.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon processor provides quicker app downloads, better responses when tapping through menus and an all-around smoother experience on the central display.

Offered as an additional upgrade, the Bowers & Wilkins audio system comprises 14 speakers, with a total output of 1,350W. Key features include Tweeter-on-Top technology, which involves mounting the tweeter assembly above the cabinet, providing improved clarity and accuracy; and Continuum mid-range speakers that minimize distortion.

Alongside exterior design enhancements, a new bio-attributed microtech upholstery, a vegan alternative to leather, is also available.

Michael Lohscheller, CEO of Polestar, said, “Polestar 2 is the cornerstone our business was built on. Seeing our first EV continue to receive numerous enhancements with every model year introduction is truly amazing. Now with a comprehensive round of technology, design and option updates, including the outstanding Bowers & Wilkins audio system and faster processor chip, I’m convinced our customers will love the experience Polestar 2 offers even more.”

A wide range of other updates have also been introduced, including new powertrain options and plug and charge technology.
