A compact, wireless smartphone charging holder for vehicles, developed by Toyoda Gosei, is being used on the latest iteration of the Toyota Prius. The solution enables smartphones to be charged simply by placing them in the provided slot.
The holder’s support mechanism guides the smartphone to the optimum position for charging. Toyoda Gosei’s solution has been designed with a simplified charger structure that makes it 60% more compact than the previously released product.
Toyota awarded the solution the ‘CE Special Award’ at its Project Awards, for enabling greater freedom of placement in the vehicle.
