GWM Ora, a Chinese marque of electric passenger car by Great Wall Motor, has launched a software update for the Ora 03.

This update is available to all current and future customers at no cost and is compatible with all variants of the Ora 03, previously known as Ora Funky Cat.

GWM Ora provides two model variants of the Ora 03 in the UK: Pure+ and Pro+. The Pure+ variant includes features such as wireless phone charging, facial recognition, electric front seats, app integration and the Hello ORA voice assistant. The Pro+ variant offers additional features including heated, cooled and massage front seats, a heated steering wheel, a panoramic sunroof, a powered gesture tailgate, rear privacy glass and advanced automatic parking assistance.

The update introduces wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to improve the vehicle’s entertainment features, and will be distributed through the brand’s network of 30+ retailers across the UK.

Users of Apple and Android devices in the Ora 03 will receive a prompt on the 10.25in integrated infotainment screen to connect and activate Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. The update will also give users access to features such as traffic-optimized navigation, music, calls and messages, voice assistance and third-party apps.

The company says the update has been tested to ensure an easy integration with Ora 03’s dual split screens, to extend navigation to both the driver display and the main infotainment screen. Customers will continue to have access to GWM Ora features such as the Hello Ora voice assistant, which can control vehicle functions including climate control, window operation, ChargePoint location and radio.

Additionally, GWM Ora plans to introduce over-the-air (OTA) updates in the future, aiming to provide customers with more flexibility in installing new software versions.
