Dolby Laboratories and Maruti Suzuki (MSIL) have partnered to bring Dolby Atmos to the Maruti Suzuki Victoris.
According to its manufacturer, Dolby Atmos is an audio technology that enhances in-car entertainment by offering greater clarity, depth and spatial detail, aiming to create a more immersive listening experience for drivers and passengers.
In India’s fast-growing mid-size SUV segment, in-car entertainment has become a key factor for consumers. Integrated within Victoris, the in-car audio system, combined with an eight-speaker setup from Infinity by Harman, Dolby Atmos reportedly transforms the cabin into a multidimensional soundstage.
Karan Grover, senior director of commercial partnerships, IMEA at Dolby Laboratories, said, “At Dolby, we are committed to bringing Dolby Atmos to a broader audience of Indian consumers. Our collaboration with India’s largest passenger vehicle OEM, Maruti Suzuki, represents a significant milestone in making Dolby Atmos accessible to the masses. By integrating Dolby Atmos into the Victoris, we’re ensuring that Indian drivers and passengers can experience audio that feels more natural and engaging, turning every drive, short or long, into a concert on wheels.”
Partho Banerjee, senior executive officer for marketing and sales at MSIL, added, “The all-new Victoris has been conceptualized to meet the evolving aspirations of dynamic young Indians who consider the automobile as an extension of their personality. The Victoris introduces a range of new-age features for the young Indian consumer. One that particularly stands out is the bespoke eight-speaker Infinity premium sound system and Dolby Atmos, for an elevated listening experience. Customers can also enjoy their favorite OTT [over-the-top] shows in the Victoris with a ‘theater on wheels’ effect for a truly cinematic experience, thanks to the Suzuki SmartPlay Pro X infotainment system featuring app store connectivity, 35+ apps and OTA updates.”
