Nissan has unveiled the 2025 Frontier, featuring a new design, increased towing capacity, expanded availability of a long-bed configuration, a larger infotainment screen and standard safety technology. Based on consumer feedback, these updates are aimed at improving utility and technology.

Design and functional updates

The 2025 Frontier will be available later this summer and features a refreshed front fascia, grille and bumper design, along with a new tailgate finisher for the Pro-X/Pro-4X models. The dashboard trim has also been redesigned and a new 17in alloy wheel design has been introduced. A new Afterburn Orange paint option is also available.

Nissan has introduced several functional revisions, such as a standard telescopic-adjusting steering wheel on all grades and a four-way power passenger seat on the Pro-X/Pro-4X and SL grades. The six-way power driver’s seat now includes two-way power lumbar support on SV grades and higher. A 12.3in touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity is also available on SV grades and higher.

All Frontier grades now feature a standard sliding rear window and a sunglasses holder in the overhead console. The SL grade includes a wireless phone charger, intelligent around view monitor and a four-way power passenger seat as standard features.

The new model also includes standard driver assistance and safety technologies across all grades, from S to SL. These features include lane departure warning, blind spot warning, rear cross traffic alert, rear parking sensors, high beam assist and intelligent cruise control. The SL grade also features traffic sign recognition.

Configurations and capabilities

The 2025 model also expands the availability of the Crew Cab long-wheelbase configuration to SV, Pro-4X, and SL grades, featuring a 6ft bed for larger loads.

The intelligent around view monitor now includes an off-road mode viewing function that can be used while driving at speeds up to 12mph, assisting drivers in spotting obstacles during off-road ventures.

The Frontier is powered by a 3.8-liter V6 engine with 310hp and 281 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. The engine includes idle stop/start technology. All grades come standard with active brake limited slip, while the Pro-4X model includes an electronic locking differential for added traction on mixed surfaces.

The Pro-X and Pro-4X models are equipped Bilstein off-road suspension components and rugged design features like over-fenders and Lava Red tow hooks. The Utili-Track system in the bed offers adjustable tie-down cleats, with an available spray-in bedliner and a 120V power outlet.

The SL grade has additional luxury features, including leather-appointed front and rear seating, a heated leather-wrapped steering wheel, LED exterior lighting and a Fender Premium Audio system with 10 speakers.
