BMW has unveiled its new 2 Series Coupé, highlighting compact proportions, a sharper design and powerful engines for an improved driving experience. This two-door model draws inspiration from the BMW 02 Series, known for its driving pleasure in the 1960s.

The UK engine line-up for the new 2 Series Coupé includes two four-cylinder petrol engines, paired with an eight-speed Steptronic transmission and rear-wheel drive. Additionally, the range features an in-line six-cylinder engine in the BMW M240i xDrive Coupé, which provides a combined fuel consumption of approximately 32.1-34.9mpg and CO2 emissions of 198-185g/km according to WLTP standards.

The BMW M240i xDrive Coupé has specific M design features, including high-gloss black inserts for side air intakes, a black spoiler lip on the front apron, a model-specific rear spoiler, trapezoidal tailpipes and high-gloss black exterior mirror caps. All variants of the new 2 Series Coupé include M high-gloss Shadow Line as standard equipment, with the optional M Sport Pro pack adding M Shadow Line lights, adaptive LED headlights, an M rear spoiler in black, M high-gloss Shadow Line with extended features, M Sport Brake system with red-painted brake calipers and M seatbelts.

Inside, the BMW 2 Series Coupé offers a sporty ambiance with a high center console, anthracite-colored headlining and a seamless blend of the instrument panel and door panel surfaces. The BMW curved display, featuring a 12.3-inch information display and a 14.9-inch control display, aims to enhance intuitive vehicle operation. The system also supports BMW iDrive with QuickSelect based on BMW Operating System 8.5, allowing touch and voice command controls for functions like air-conditioning and seat heating.

The standard ambient lighting in the new 2 Series Coupé includes waterfall lighting integrated into the central air vents, with nine color options for a customizable interior atmosphere. This feature also includes welcome and goodbye animations, and light signals for incoming calls and open doors.

The 2 Series Coupé comes with an M leather steering wheel as standard, featuring a flattened bottom rim, modified spokes and a red center marker. The standard heated sports seats for the driver and front passenger can be optionally upgraded with features like electric adjustment with memory function and lumbar support. Optional M Sport seats provide additional adjustment options and enhanced lateral support.

The new M PerformTex black seats, standard across all models, present a sporty design with sustainable production processes. Optional interior trims include fine wood finishes and M carbon-fiber trims, while ‘CraftedClarity’ glass applications provide a premium touch to elements like the gear selector and start/stop button.

The BMW Operating System 8.5 in the Coupé offers intuitive operation via enhanced BMW iDrive with QuickSelect and digital services. The system features a new home screen with a permanent map view and vertical bar widgets for easy navigation. The BMW Maps navigation system, standard as part of the BMW Live Cockpit Plus, includes features like the Augmented View function, enhancing the map display with real-time contextual information.

The new BMW 2 Series Coupé is available for order at BMW retailers in the UK, with customer deliveries starting in August 2024. The model will be manufactured at BMW’s plant in San Luis Potosí, Mexico.
